Alexander Wienand ================================================== Alexander Wienand is a versatile pianist and composer who feels equally at home in both classical and jazz music, seamlessly combining the two in his concert programs. His discography includes jazz projects featuring his own compositions as well as classical recordings, among them a complete recording of Francis Poulenc’s works for two pianos with Eva May. Raised in Calw, the pianist began leading his own projects at an early age and is now featured at international festivals. Wienand has been awarded the Bavarian Art States Grant twice and has received support from the German Association of Musicians, the German Music Life Foundation, the NRW Cultural Secretariat, and the Berlin Senate. In his adopted home of Berlin, alongside his university teaching activities, Wienand is involved in musical integration work in the Neukölln district, where he heads the jazz department at the Paul Hindemith Music School. ================================================== Discography -------------------------------------------------- 2024 New Piano Trio: What the Fugue (ACT) 2024 Various Artists: Magic Moments (Compilation) (ACT) 2019 New Piano Trio: I love Pop (Rhythmic Dog) 2018 Eva May & Alexander Wienand: Poulenc: Works for Piano Four-Handed and Two Pianos (Paladino Music) 2016 Stefan Wilkening, Julien Thorel, Norman Shetler, Eva Maria May, Alexander Wienand: Poulenc: Babar (Paladino Music) 2015 Alexander Wienand & Marco Netzbandt: Double Rescue (Unit Records / BR Klassik) 2015 Kolja Lessing, Henrik Wiese, Eva Maria May, Alexander Wienand: Poulenc: Chamber Music (Paladino Music) 2013 Pegelia Gold & Art Zentral: Polaris (Unit Records) 2012 Alexander Wienand Trio: Get the Cat (Musicom / BR Klassik) 2010 Art Zentral: Zeichenschleier (NRW Records) -------------------------------------------------- Last updated: 28.10.2025 Kontakt / Contact: contact@alexanderwienand.com www.alexanderwienand.com
